Oh Say Can You Sea?

Nothing really compares to SeaWorld San Antonio. It’s got all the entertainment you could ever want. Whether you’re in the mood for a day of wild water fun, want eo enjoy a slower pace watching shows or relish roller coaster rides all day; SeaWorld fills the bill completely.

Of course with the hot San Antonio weather, the best thing to do is camp out at Lost Lagoon. You can spend hours in the Wave Wash Pool and never feel the inclination move! If you’re a bit more energetic, hop on a tube at Castaway Cruisin,’ a 1,200 foot long water route that has just enough excitement to keep you on your toes. It’s important to remember that little ones need a life vest which are easily obtained at stations all along the route. Lifeguards are stationed throughout the ride as well because safety is something SeaWorld never takes for granted and is one of the things that endears it to parents. You choose to never leave the SeaWorld Lost Lagoon and end up having an incredible day.

If you’re just tired of immersing yourself in water and want to chill out in a less pro-active way, then you’re in for a treat. The real magic of SeaWorld is in the showmanship. You really cannot visit SeaWorld without a trip to Believe, the show that makes your kids want to have a killer whale for a pet. Shamu is the star and he will put on a show you’ll never forget. If you are in the first twenty rows, be prepared to get wet!

Another must see at SeaWorld is Azul. The combination of acrobats, whales, dolphins and birds will make you wonder if this isn’t just about the best job in the world. Don’t be surprised if your kids want to sign up for gymnastics after watching this show. In addition, you’ll remember The Cannery Row Caper for years. Sea lion duo Clyde and Seamore are the stars of a 1940’s “film noir” type escapade in which they attempt to unravel the mystery of disappearing fish in a nearby cannery. Clyde and Seamore are better actors than most humans! If after all the outdoor activities you really need to cool down, take in the 4–D movie experience of R.L. Stine’s Haunted Lighthouse. Watch out, the seats actually shoot out air and water and lurch around!

SeaWorld is a great bonus to residents of San Antonio. While visitors have to pack it all into a day or two, we get to savor the experience all year round. There’s enough to do and see that an annual pass makes good sense. It’s not just a water park or a place to enjoy roller coasters and shows. SeaWorld offers Adventure Camps, a chance to interact with the animals, special events, concerts and fireworks on the Fourth of July!

If you haven’t been in a while it's time to go!
